What word or phrase drives you absolutely nuts?
submitted by, revolt
Growing up, I never liked when my parent's would say "because I told you so". That was never good enough for me. As an early childhood educator now, I work extra hard to give real reasons for why children should do things. When I hopefully become a parent some day, I hope to never use that statement when enforcing a rule or consequence for my children. As a child, I wanted a real reason, and I believe that most all children want a real understandable and rational reason for why parents or adults want them to do things. There is are always ways to explain things to children so that they will understand. "Because I said so" just never cut it for me, and it probably never will.
Would you ever consider having your life taped for a reality show?
Well of course I would!!! Anyone who truly knows me, knows that I am obsessed with THE original reality show: The Real World and knows that I am doing whatever it takes to get myself on the next season! I have already gone to a walk-in audition in Miami. I made it through the first round, but sadly I never got a call back. I have until I am 25 to keep trying though! :)
Did you go to summer camp? What is your favorite memory/story? If you didn't go to camp, do you feel like you missed out?

I never went to summer camp. I sure do feel like I missed out. But actually, my lifelong teenage-job dream came true. I finally got to be a summer camp counselor this summer. It had it's up and downs. I wish I had done it when I was younger though. I feel like an old employee there. However, where I grew up, you had to be 18 to be a summer camp counselor and there were no CITs (counselor-in-training) for the 15, 16, 17 year olds. By the time I was 18 I had already started taking summer college classes because my goal was to get out of Illinois and college ASAP. I couldn't work summer camp because I had class during the day (which is when camp is) and I could only work a job at night on weekends. But I guess my little teenage-job dream is coming true now. I wish I could say I am making friends. But all the other counselors are 18 and just starting college. I am 22 and half way through my Masters...so yeah..we are kind of in different places in our lives...except for the North Carolina hottie. But we don't ever see each other, so I can't even talk to him to ask him out. He might end up being an a-hole anyway.
I went to girl scout camp once, even though I wasn't a girl scout. I always wanted to be one though. But I think ever since I went to girl scout camp, I wanted to be a camp counselor, and a girl scout leader.
That's all I have to say about that.
On whom do you have your most embarrassing/scariest crush?
Submitted by Jillzey.
I always get embarassed when I find myself being attracted to younger guys. Like guys that are 18...or 19...or 20...or 21...guys that are a FEW years younger than me. I am not talking about like 14 or 13 years old or something.....
So I just tell myself...Shannon you are way too old for an 18 year old...
What is the quickest false assumption people make about you?
Submitted by JJ.
That I am younger than I am. People assume I am in high school, not that I am working on my Master's. It's my height. And the fact that nothing about my body or face has changed since I was 14. I have grown in years, and maybe wisdom, and maybe maturity, but that's not what people see on the outside. They assume I am young, dumb, inexperienced, and immature.
or maybe it's all a complex that I have, and maybe people really think I am 22 at first look...
nah...everytime I sub... this is what happens
"Oh hunny, you dont even look old enough to be out of school, let alone substitute teaching."
"Oh yeah. I'm 22. In fact I have a Bachelor's Degree."
"You're 22? Oh girl, you may look young, but you will love it when you are older!"
Really, because right now I freaking hate it. I would love to just look my age, and get recognized for it.
What is the scariest experience you've had with Mother Nature?
Submitted by jacolily.
I was three. I remember being at Crystal Lake Beach in Crystal Lake, Illinois. It was dark because a storm was coming. I was standing at the edge of the shore facing the parking lot. My mother was gathering all our food, towels, and beach toys. It wasn't raining, but it was super super windy, and dark. The scariest part to me was the sand that was blowing everywhere. Being three years old I thought I was in a sand tornando/twister kind of thing because sand was literally blowing EVERYWHERE! No one was comforting me while I cried my head off because my mom and brother were quickly gathering our things. I remember the sand hurting as it flung around. My mom eventually picked up me up and we ran against the "sand storm" to the car. We sat there for a long time waiting for it all to end so we could drive the 15 minutes home.
The End.

She may end up moving in with me too, if she decides to stay in the area! I hope she does! The three of us girls (Ellie, Kristen, and I) spent the day at Brandon Town Center and rode a double decker carousel at the mall! pic and video to come!
Sunday NIght-Found out Eric is also back in town, went over to his apt to work on my lesson plans that were due TODAY!
Besides staying up until 2am to do lesson plans, the weekend was a blast! I wish all my weekends could be this fun!
What question do you hate being asked?
Anything related to my height. I mean I obviously accept that I am short. There is nothing I can do about it. Oh and I hate being asked about whether I am a virgin or not. I don't know. Sometimes I don't mind talking about my height and whether or not I have had sex, but sometimes it irks me.
